My First Junk Silver Purchase

These are definitely no junk. Definitely a pompous ascot wearing coin collector came up with that name for these great coins B). I'm in absolute awe at the character these coins have. I got a few high quality/premium ones and the rest for $13 face. What am I going to do now? I want more, but I know I shouldn't.

why shouldn't you? ;) old silver coins are great, real history.

Yes I feel the history flowing thru my body when I hold this stuff. It's really something...I love it. I guess I could get some more. The quality of the silver I got today for $14 face is amazing. Nothing too worn out or dirty. All dates and words and letters are 100% legible. These are nothing like the videos I watched on youtube when people were showing their pickups of true JUNK silver. They always say things like "this one is in bad shape, but I buy silver for the silver not for it's looks" hehe, funny people. Anywho, what I'm saying is I'll probably buy a little more. Maybe some of that BU stuff I got today, but I don't think I'll be buying up junk silver on a regular basis. I just don't see the benefits in that at all. But did I say I love it?

You end up spending less over premium for old worldwide junk silver. They are less recognized in the west, but there are some crazy intricate and beautiful designs out there. THAT is where the real money pit is. :P

That's great tbh, in the UK circulated 1964 Halves sell for £8  ($10.50) and the walking libertys £10 ($13.20)

I was wrong with the prices. The Washington quarters and the Roosevelt dimes were $13 face. The Merc dimes were $14 face. Jefferson half dollar was $7.50 a piece. Kennedy half was $7 a piece. The liberty quarter I forgot how much but probably about the same. The BU Jefferson half was $9. The BU Merc dome was $5. The walking liberties were $7.50 I believe. I think I’m more interested in the high dollar coins as I’m not going to hoard dimes and quarters, but who knows. I sure as hell don’t.

Edit- I meant 1 dollar face for $13 and $14.

Wow. That alone would make me not buy this stuff in any volume. I’d pick a few coins here and there.

That is something I’m also interested in. I watched a video on Mexican coins and it just captured my interest

Of course its harder to get here and those are Ebay prices. If i'm looking for junk I tend to avoid the US stuff because its got a premium.

Even the 40% sells in the UK on ebay for about $7
