Rosland Book of Gold Adverts on TV

Recommended Posts

Rosland advertises on TV as a great source of gold for collectors and everyone interested in gold and silver.
They tempt you to obtain a free hard covered book on gold coins.

I mentioned this company 3 years ago on silver stackers but it didn't generate many comments so I am resurrecting  it -

Has anyone used this Company and has anyone obtained a copy of their free book ?
I assume you have to tell them all about yourself before receiving the book and then be faced with pestering phone calls - is this how it works ?

Looking at their website it does appear they tend to offer graded & selected / numi coins only and no prices stated so that suggests "Harrods prices" but I thought I heard today on TV an added bit of promo stating they are the cheapest - not that for a second I believe this. Funny that the adverts show stacks of bullion one ounce gold Brits and sovereigns but couldn't find a non-graded bullion coin on their website.

When a company advertise "Investment grade bullion" then   it's is mostly 999 bullion or just plain bullion. When you need to sign up or call for prices you most likely will fall in a spam or sales trap... Eh pitch. I think its not worth the effort and time to enquiring for their prices especially in the world of internet today. .

Why do folks are always is search of a new dealers instead sticking to well established dealers?  yes ok. I know I guess it's good to look out for lower premiums...

If you want to know the Harrods prices then why not check out prices on their page however I think Harrods just sold their bank... So I'm not sure what the current deal is.

Just got off the phone to them, not too bad over all. Not pushy, not wanting too much information, it was just a chat. Anyway, I only wanted to chat about Sov's, raw, £250, ms61-64 £325-350, ms65-68 £375-500. The bloke did say ms69-70 very rare, which we know is true, couldn't give a price, which I think well done them. Most graded are from PCGS, older ones more likely from NGC.

They didn't press me for my phone number or email address. I gave them my name and address and they will be sending me one of their books.

Over all no pressure or hard selling, much better than I had expected, plus you can meet in person if you would wish and free P and P.

Took the plunge and called them today, thanks @tallthinkev for the "inspiration".
Have to wait and see what is in their book but I got a feeling from the chat that they are focussing on selling graded coins only - that doesn't show on their TV adverts at all.
I was told that they buy back at the market prices so if you buy a £600 MS-XX sovereign on Monday and a week later it is still £600 then they would give you £600 for it.,
Not sure I believe this as I would have imagined they would offer a bit less.
Again I do not know if they are catering for "collectors" or for "investors" but bullion around spot they are definitely not.

Makes sense, they'll only advertise where the money is ?

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

That must just be an English advert,as never seen it up here in God's own country. :P

You can see all the adds on Youtube - very misleading so tempted to put in a complaint to the Advertising Standards people.
Waiting on input from @tallthinkev  - were you impressed ?

Anyone advertising on TV has to find the costs of these adverts and airtime from somewhere.

They get it from their inflated prices

Bullionbyposts  adverts in between At The Races on the afternoon come from there higher than average prices they charge.

They call that a book?

Now this is a free book that my wife was given in Sharps Pixley store last year.

Now that's a book. Sharps Pixley is an established name in the metals market,  so I wouldn't expect nothing less

Hi Pete, even if we have a different business case in germany and dont do outbound calls for sales at all i would like to give a statement about that.

This "book" you are showing above is not the rosland book about gold. It's just the brochure about Roslands products.

We are 4 times certified PCGS reseller (Rosland USA, Rosland UK, Rolsand DE twice) and are cooperating with several mints.

It may be possible that Rosland in UK and USA is sometimes "pushy", but this is how business works in UK.

There are some employee who left the company in UK And created their own, stealed many clients and do bad reputation and fake reviews about rosland uk online and offline frequently.

This is one of the old books which contains like 72-100 double printed pages and is bound in a hard cover.

Attached is only a few pages for the same book in german. No ads at all.

Thank you for adding your comments.
There was a break in UK television advertising because I believe the advertising standards agency stopped the Rosland advertisements appearing because they were misleading.
The same advertisements are now showing again but they have carefully edited out the audio claims for this so called hardback book packed with information.
However they haven't edited out the video and still show this original book which is still misleading but significantly less so.
The flimsy brochure copy I show is what I received by telephoning Rosland using the number on the TV screen to request my " hard copy" over 2 years ago.
Although you mention the "old book" with up to 100 pages hard bound - this is precisely what was being advertised repeatedly at the time but not being sent out.
I haven't any idea what Rosland sends out today but I imagine it will still be the brochure and not a hardbound 100 page book, even as it is still shown in the advertisements.
Hope this helps keep the record straight.
