I'm constantly amazed at UK currency gold being VAT, GCT and inherence tax free, I had to explain this to a friend of of mine who owns several business and he said " why the hell has his accountant not told him about gold before" ........Most people don't understand it.  

I've got mine, this is the last proof for a while. Unless KC3 pops his clogs.

Depends on which side of the interest rates you are exposed to, more will come into the UK gold coin market especially with CGT being halved.   I've got a sneaky feeling we will start to see bullion premiums rising due the  increased demand for physical gold.

This is incorrect. Gold is not exempt from inheritance tax. The inheritance tax system is better played by gifting your house to your children/spouse as this raises the tax-free estate threshold from £325K to £500K. If you liquidate to gold and gift them £500K you have to pay 40% tax on £175K. If you gift them a house worth £500K, the tax is 0%

There are ways to reduce the tax burden. You can become King, for example. There are other more complex vehicles but this is not the place for me to start discussing specifics

I’m an amazed by several things with UK currency gold being CGT, VAT and Inheritance tax free.  One this has not been changed or just closed off to the plebs aka the 99%…….But also amazed more people don’t use UK currency gold as a vehicle for tax free savings, and especially inheritance tax, is there anything stopping you liquidating all your assets and then gifting it to your children in the form of UK gold currency? It’s certainly within the current rules.  
 
When they made these rules (think it was in the 1960’s) they did not imagine the plebs holding gold bullion and it was purely a vehicle for the rich. 

I think they will be harder to sell beyond its already inflated price as time goes by as the real proof sets are coming soon. But hey, what do I know ? Good luck either way
 

I think there are bigger concerns. What if sovereigns lose their CGT free status…..? The gov is already reducing the CGT annual allowance amongst other tools they have to claw back the half a trillion quid they spunked on covid measures, let alone the national debt now subject to ever increasing interest rates to pay it down.

I don't think they will be hard to sell but the current prices may well drop as the FOMO crowd move onto the next set of releases.

Longer term they will remain boyant imho.

Just a quickie. Have you got any of those bogie covered sovereigns at 10/01/2020 prices please. Asking for myself. I don't mind if they are 12/01/2020 prices. 

Right, I finally rang up and spoke with a very nice lady. What had happened is that a mail was sent to me explaining that Chards use Royal Mail and UPS for international delivery and that they did not want to use UPS as they have been a bit terrible with their service and wanted me to confirm if I was OK to change to the Royal Mail delivery. Alas, I never received the mail (god knows where it went) and that explained the delay as they were waiting for me to reply to an email I never received….so now, I have confirmed with Chards that I am ok with the Royal Mail tracked and everything is full steam ahead.
 
I am very happy to say that Chards have been excellent now in both my dealings with them and I can recommend them to all here based on my experiences….whew !

My 5 coin set from @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer was supposed to have been despatched last Monday but I have received no tracking number nor any communication whatsoever. I have emailed them and am waiting for a reply. I don’t see why I shoukd have to chase them. Totally unnecessary levels of stress caused.
