Got a 5oz silver too. Tried for thr 10oz but no luck. That popped up again for a brief moment too.. but at that point I was revaluating life goals and nearly bought the gold😂

Been a loooong while since I bothered with the RM…years in fact….but snaffled a 5oz silver just to have a ticket for the ride….got a feeling the gold will do well but not sure about the silver. Anyway, got a ticket and worst case scenario, will have a pretty design to look at as a door stopper.

Oldun got a reaction from dicker in A buying dilemma
If you are absolutely sure you wont be shaken out for 15 years, bullion sovs or a collector’s sov are both fine imho. However, if you are new to collector world, you absolutely should research a LOT before buying.
If you have the slightest doubt about the collector’s side, go bullion, as, as many have said, they are way way quicker and easier to liquidate…..and you get to play with them in hand like a pirate !

Oldun got a reaction from JamesH in 2024 Proof sovereign
One word of warning for those thinking of buying sets via 3rd parties as a way of getting better service. Some dealers cherry pick the best coins from sets they get to have graded and lob the rest in sets they sell to punters. Check your coins very carefully as some dealers say they check and then dont and rip off unsuspecting/trusting customers.

Oldun got a reaction from Tn21 in 2023 Coronation King Charles III and Queen Camilla Gold Sovereign
Coronation 5 coin set arrived today along with a graded 1/4oz Coronation Proof. Lovely to see St George back pride of place with clean fields. It seems like forever since it was a good old sovereign and with a crowned coronation Charlie on the other side, magic ! Treated myself to a visit to my LCS and scooped up 5x20g bullion bars just to keep me honest
The 5 sov Coronation Proof is an absolute belter.

Sure. Difficult to imagine from the photo but the big one is the 5 sov……all eyes fall on that, all others are secondary.

Imho, the bullion coins will command significant premiums……in 100 years from now……just like those 200 years ago.
