Got my Bull of Clarence 1oz silver proof two-coin set delivered today.
I have to admit the designs look much less weird in the flesh, and the reverse proof is really a standout finish!

I’m having a feeling the design might be William Wyon’s St. George and the Dragon which we were hankering for as part of the Great Engravers series.
It’s just a feeling… I have no inside information or hints or anything at all from anyone.
I’m just deducing this from what I’m seeing and hearing:
- Proclamation says St. George and the Dragon (though the Coat of Arms also has a Proclamation!)
- Someone here said they heard from a dealer that it will be different than the regular design
- Other Mints have released Wyon’s G&D this year. 

As many others, I would have loved  the W.Wyon's depiction of  St George and the Dragon, with QEII...it would have been an instant buy (unfortunately for my wallet)...Now, I  really hope that the Royal Mint will change their "2 coins set" model about the Great Engravers series. If the W. Wyon series was top notch, we have seen that even with the iconic Gothic Crown, this choice is not adequat, we only have to observe the sales of the Petition Crown... This choice is even more discutable in these times with all our questions about a living that we try to preserve in these economic and geopolitics turnmoils and moreover in a context of rising gold prices toward the 3000/4000US $ mark (my bet) in the coming years. I got the 2oz silver set and also ordered the 5oz set Petition Crown. Even if this is a nice set, I don't really see where this series will go, and I decided to cancel the 5oz set and even return my 2oz silver set for a refund. I am already an "happy camper" with the W.Wyon mini series (Una, 3G, GC QA&Portrait), both in silver and gold 2oz and even if I will buy the coming Coronation SOTD, my strategy is to take profit on semi numismatic coins and from now on, buying  bullion for easy liquidity (my current purchases aims are Maple Leaf & Britannia,  in gold and silver among other coins...)

Finally received my graded 2022 Memorial to complete my graded collection of sovereigns with designs that were available for one year only. Unless I’ve missed any out I now have all 10. Nice round number so I think I might stop here (until the next one 😩🤣)

This will be a BU SOTD Sovereign. All I know is a design  "different as the usual run-of-the-mill" Strike on the Day Sovereigns,  and the mintage will be low, dixit a dealer

Just getting the first results back...........

Totally awesome arrivals today... a coin I have desired to own for a couple of years now. A dream coin in fact. An Athenian owl tetradrachm dating to 440-404BC, over 2400 years old! Absolutely exquisite! Amazing relief. 






 
And for a geometry geek this is unbelievably cool. A first millennium 10 dirhem polyhedral weight, I believe used to check against coins. They come in many shapes... I see a new collection in my future....
 

A while back I asked a friend if he could find me one of these beauties as they never come up unless ordered direct. Fast forward to late last week when I got a message saying it had landed after a long journey around the globe..this for me personally is the nicest 1 kilo minted bar in existence and just wow it doesn't disappoint in hand

Here's something that I can't quite believe happened that honestly made me chuckle and say out loud "how am I not surprised".
3 coin set turned up today and I'm thinking not to get my hopes up. Sure enough when I open the box. The full sov is out of the capsule. But here's the funny part, the capsule is closed. So someone put this is in full well knowing what they've done. You honestly can't write it. Miraculously, the full sov looks completely fine and I have no idea how, along with the others but will inspect closer when I have time. So glad I had my camera ready for this one.

Indeed the relief looks rather good, and if it weren’t for the premium price tag due to the hype of the series, they’d be nice coins to have in larger denominations.
