Like a jumping jack on a trampoline! lol It will be back up again soon, then down, then up......

Seems to rise when the US markets are closed and drop when they open, funny that.

No Craig the mining stocks mainly rise and fall on whatever spot does, pure gold & silver miners that is, not necessarily mining companies for whom silver and gold are just a small part of their over all operations.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

The stock markets are looking bad, a rally yesterday after the fed pretty much said they would never raise interest rates, today they tried to rally then pulled back, the dow's nearly down 2% as I type, doesn't look good.

Should be interesting to see how gold and silver perform for the rest of the week, again impossible to call.

Why don't you change your money tomorrow with currencyfair, you can do the exchange and leave the cash in your currencyfair's acc. I often play the currency game in a small way and exchange GPB into AUD or EUR when I think I can get a good exchange rate V GPB and leave it on hand in Currencyfair's acc until I blow it on silver coins :)

More good news for PM mining stocks then garthy if the markets get a well over due bashing.

Yeah great day for fresnillo, I sold mine at 940 so did quite well, I'm definitely considering getting back in now after the hammering it's taken, it all depends on those metal prices, will they get pulled down by the markets in the short term or will money go looking for a safe place, going to be interesting to find out.

Have a look at HOC that has been slaughtered over the last year and is primarily a silver producer, the family I believe own at least 20% and have been engaging in cost cutting etc so could be due for a bounce.

I have held shares in them a number of years ago and did OK with them, I might be tempted with a small punt of a 1000 shares they are on my watch list.

I that Hochschild mining? I held them earlier this year and pulled a profit, if you want to see a miner that's been smashed check African Minerals, they've gone from 600 to 15, I watch it all day and the swings are wild, started out today down 20% and finished plus 3.33%, there maybe big money to be made there but also a chance of big losses.

Anyway tomorrow will be an interesting day for silver, it's gonna be all over the place.

Thought I would post another Franklin Sanders market update. Suggesting that the pm price correction which started back in '11 is now over and that the nice upward trend will resume. Possibly. Depending on a few small huge factors! lol  But expect prices to rise next week. For those of you who blinked.... you just missed the bottom.

I don't have his confidence in the market yet and I am expecting more bumping along for a while. It is all just smoke and mirrors. The markets look great flaky healthy depending on how far back you look.  :P  The Euro is struggling, as is the Pound. And the Dollar. Hang on, they can't all be loosing against each other!!!

Any way - here is the article. http://silver-and-gold-prices.goldprice.org/2014/10/the-gold-price-rose-2880-this-week-or.html

You have to skip over all the charts to find the words!
