You have 100k (What ever currency you want) to spend on metals and metals only...You currently have no metals....What do you Buy?

Here is what I am buying on today's prices.

1 monster box of silver Kangaroos (500 oz) $16,365

1 monster box of Krugerrands (500 oz) $16,365

50 10oz 9fine mint bars (500 oz) $16,360

10 1 oz Gold Krugerrands $24,295

10 1 oz Gold Maples/Britannias $24,295

Totals:

1500 Oz of Silver

20 Oz of Gold

Total 97,324

Remaining money I am spending on a Gold Buffalo or fancy silver stuff.

What is your breakdown?

75:1 eh?

Me, using your figures, 40 CGT exempt 1oz Gold Britannias $97,180

Wait, 41 CGT exempt 1oz Gold Britannias 😊

For £100,000, I'd buy 53 gold Britannias from Atkinsons/Chards etc. £99,471

For fun, I'd offer @James32 £100k for whatever he had under his bed 😉

£100k spent of self education, books, courses, mentorship, networking, marketing/promotion, nutrition, fitness, well being will all yield you far greater % returns.

Theoretical money? The answer is always what can I get the most of, and where do I put it for maximum hilarity and inconvenience. Limited to metals, it would probably be about 20-25 tons of loose nails in the garden of any of the political party leaders in the UK (or parliament car park). Cleaning that up would occupy them more productively than what they currently do.

Society has RULES! You can ONLY spend 100k on metals. (though I agree with your assessment)

If we're talking about made-up money that I can freely do with as I want, I would buy £99,000.00 worth of Cupronickel coins, then I'd tell Chris that I wanted to do a giveaway on TSF. I'd use £250 of the remaining money to bribe politely ask him to advertise it on the forum as "£99k of mystery metal used in coins". Then, instead of the winner being chosen at random, I'd look through who entered and find whoever I wanted to upset the most and pick them as the winner. Then, using the remaining £750, I'd ship the lot to their address and walk away.

I'd put 50k into new 1oz 24ct gold bullion coins that were exempt from capital gains taxes, 30k into new bullion sovereigns, and 20k into whichever collectable gold, silver or platinum coins or bars took my fancy.

In reality I would probably split it 40k in physical gold, than 40k / 20k in Silver and Platinum ETFs for ease of selling.

Alternatively I would love to spend 100k on indoor and outdoor bronze sculptures.

20% half sovs

20% Tenth Brits

10% on stuff that I particularly like - special reverse brits/sovs 🌞

Interesting.

No Switzerland or Singapore?

I'm going to guess your choices are based on places you frequent often.

Yes - and places where you can sell gold for cash easily.

In the current climate of the world:

Gillicks all the way!

I would acquire maybe x1 tube of 1oz Gold Britannias and everything else in YELLOW GOLD sovereigns.

Not the copper sovereigns.

I wouldn’t invest so much into silver if I had that much to “invest” in to be honest. That’s just me.

Copper is outperforming silver so far this year, but no, in reality 9 tubes of sovs or the 53 brits is the only practical answer.

6 monster boxes of silver at just short of 100Kg is never going to work for anyone.

Most likely the sovereign for me, split between bullion and some of the more numismatic ones. Only because that makes more sense here In the UK I think. CGT free, easy to move on so quite liquid. Over in the US perhaps some pre 33 gold and some silver. Here in the UK we get hammered with 20% VAT along with the premium on silver. I may stand corrected but in Texas, there isn't any sales tax on silver coins, bars or rounds. I think this makes silver a bit more attractive in your neck of the woods.

Off the top of my head, probably 2 monster boxes of silver Maples (slightly cheaper than Eagles for me usually - about $35k right now), one 1toz Platinum bar/coin (just because I'd like to have one - about $1,050 right now) and the rest would buy 1toz gold Buffalos or Maples - whichever I could find at a better deal.  If I think about it too much, I might buy 3 monster boxes of silver instead of 2.
