Item: As per title. 2 X Worn, Ex mount George III Guineas 178? and 1793 and a Plugged Ex jewellery 1871 Shield Victoria

The first Guinea

Is very worn and has had a soldered mount at some point in time that has now been removed. The date is badly worn and you can only make out the top of the 17 but the next number could either be an 8 or a 9, the last number is less clear but sill looks like an 8 or a 9.

The second Guinea

Is not as worn as the first and the obverse is worse that the reverse. There is also some solder present on the obverse. The date is 1793

The Plugged Shield Young head Victoria

This has been drilled and put on a chain at some point. However, it was then plugged at some point but quite poorly. The date of the coin is 1871. The die, I think is number 2. However, although the 2 looks to be central it is not possible to to see if there was a number in front of the 2 because of the plug. 

Please look over the pictures and if you want pictures of individual coins I will do my best to take them. These coins are not my own but are my brothers. He has asked if I wanted them or if I knew anyone that would. I don't really collect Guineas and already have a few just to scratch that itch and I have the London 1871 Shield. So I did tell him I would ask here. I have the coins and will be the one dealing with the sale.

I have been asked for their weight. When put on the scales they have lost just over a gram.

Many thanks to those who made enquiries about these coins. I have ask my brother if he would like me to offer a reduced price. Collectively they owe him £1,200. He asked me to reduce the price to £1,200 plus postage. He has said he is open to splitting if this helps. I will withdraw the post in the morning.

Sorry, He's decided to keep them now. I think another family member has said they would take them as a lot with the possibility of him purchasing them back at a later date.
