Think the roo is a poor effort, the kook ok but in the past Perth mint have excelled in back ground detail not with this one the rest are very nice

Guess there's only so much you can do with a profile of a roo. The koala is nice, better than most recent poor efforts. The kook I'm not so sure, will need to see it in hand, might be marmite.

Profile picture with thanks to Carl Vernon

Wow - makes me like the 2016 Kook even more. That 2017 design looks like two "Angry Birds" with very little background detail.  Looks a bit 1-dimensional to me...

i like the big 10 ouncers usually to see that background detail - but there will be a lot of empty real estate on those coins.

Ok - let's wait and see them in hand I guess, but so far - not that impressed.

The Queens portrait is just... well :|

Says its "Approved by Buckingham Palace "..,,, but maybe not by Her Majesty herself?! That portrait is vying with the Royal Canadian Mint portraits in my view ?

Maybe we should be buying up the IOM 2016 reverse proofs after all (I think Ikeo was doing that?).
