Today I bought.....

Recommended Posts

My daughter turned 1 year old and I decided that I will start a silver bullion collection for her. I will buy all the typical bullion coins since she was born (2016) and when she is 18 it would be a good gift, don't you think? I plan to buy only the series that change design year after year and maybe the special britannias, maples that change its design from time to time.

This is my first order:

1 oz silver NIUE 2017 ATHENIAN OWL
1 oz silver KANGAROO 2017
1 oz silver NOAH'S ARK Armenia
WIENER PHILHARMONIKER - 1 oz silver 2017
1 oz silver MAPLE LEAF 2017
1 oz silver BRITANNIA 2017
1 oz silver U.S. Silver EAGLE 2017
1 oz silver SOMALIA ELEPHANT 2018
1 oz silver SOMALIA ELEPHANT 2016
1 oz silver SOMALIA ELEPHANT 2017
1 oz silver KOALA 2017
1 oz silver BRITANNIA 2017 - 20th Anniversary
1 oz silver KOALA 2016

If you're asking me in a roundabout way why there's a ship motif you'd be better asking directly at those who make the coins. Apparently it's a nautical themed yearly offering, the reasoning behind the theme I can't answer

Same design yearly ? Or different

Today I bought some numismatic from French Mint (Monnaie de Paris).  These are silver coins sold at face value, yet these commemorative coins are not the true "legal tenders".

France by Jean Paul Gaultier, July 14th. EUR50 (41g, 90% silver, mintage 50,000);  France by Jean Paul Gaultier, Mariniere. Sold at EUR55, 41g, 90% silver, 25,000)

Marianne - Liberty, EUR100 (50g, 90% silver, mintage: 15,000)

Augustine Rodin, EUR100 (50g, 90% silver, mintage: 10,000).

800 minted and rarely seen so semi-key

Beautiful pick-up Numi!  If you had to say, what would be your call on its condition?  Is it safe to assume our good friends at NGC will be seeing this stellar coin in the not too distant future? :)

French mint charged EUR 30 for shipping to Hong Kong, and that holds more than 20 coins, plus a large size medal. So I think they charge a flat delivery fee, which I have no complaint. [emoji16] Order more canmake the delivery % is lower, feeling better but still pay-out more $$$. I didn't order the gold one, but now I have 5 silver and we can deliver in HK!

Seems maybe every year France will get a coin or stamp for your birthday, that's cool.

This one will get NCS or crossover treatment as it annoys me that the design is on the wrong side Bought from www.greatcollections.com overnight

Will join my 20p and 5p from 2002

I saw these and thought you may be interested, I don't often bid on GreatCollections as the starting prices seem to be a little high for things I would be interested in - resulting in zero bids whereas a realistic starting price usually attracts lots of bids!

It also annoys me that the obverse seems to be the side of the coin that is put on the side with the label, for alot of older coins the date and the actual design differentiating the coin is the reverse!
