Impossible to now spend/cash.

 

Wasnt too long ago you could pay these coins into your bank account like any other  currency. A few clever ‘*****’ started buying them by the 10k-100k amount with their various credit cards, pocketing the wide variety of cash back and ‘points’ offers and paying them directly into their bank account upon receipt. Think free money loophole. Banks pressured Royal Mint who cancelled their cash value, to in name only. No bank will touch them now.

 

Left quite a few of those guys with hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of coins whose value had been suddenly slashed!

Yeah I bought 4 when they first came out for my children one each they just looked at me daft the coins are still in my stack. I do believe you can take them to the BofE to be exchanged.

As far as that article says then they can be used to pay fines in court.

Either way they are collectible coins and they are here to be sold at under face value.

I also bought 5 (max purchase per order) of the Churchill ones. Had no idea that you can’t cash in on them with the bank.

They are very popular! They were minted for collectors and have been consistently solid sellers. Limited mintage, precious metal content, beautiful well made coins, what’s not to love?
