But a poor quality image is all that we have to go on! Do you think we can read poor quality images better than you? 😄

Maybe. I thought the opinion of others might be useful for me in confirming my suspicions it was not a die eleven so I asked if anyone had a guess as to what it might be. I explained why I was asking and that unfortunately this was the only image I had.

If someone isn’t able to contribute constructively then they do not have to post or take part in a thread. If this is not the place to ask opinions on coins then were is.

Thanks for the help.

If the seller can only offer a poor quality image, perhaps walk away. If you fancy taking a risk, good luck, you might have stumbled upon something interesting.

Nobody will offer advice without a clear conscience. If it's the right price, you have the stomach (and curiosity!), go for it.

👍

This is the thing, some would rather argue than just clarify. Clearly I didn't get the message that was merged into 3 of his posts, the original post was NOT clear at all, and though I scanned the thread I missed (and easily done considering how cryptic it was), the fact that he thinks the coin has the 6/5 overdate in the first place.

As many here know I've got 100s of very interesting potential errors, and even I myself ask here for opinions, but with very high resolution images, and ones shot through a microscope. I tried to explain this also in my error thread that he posted on, again trying to help but that was probably disregarded as well.

I put over 100 hours a month into my research on Sovereigns, I'm creating a database/website for people such as the OP to utilise in the future, it's a shame he hasn't been here longer or he would have known i was highlighted here with experience to share, and I really enjoy sharing my knowledge as well so it's a shame overall.

My opinion is that it doesn't look like 11. It might be a 2 or 3, I'm not sure? If I said it was a 3, would you buy it?

Some of the guys on here have a scientific/technical background and take this very seriously. If you had seen the investment @sg86 has made in his equipment, you'd understand.

He has also had literally 1000s of sovereigns through his hands.

The unhelpful comments that some people brought to the thread that never intended to contribute to the original post but to make it a thread to entertain themselves do not interest me

Yikes, bit of fun doesn't hurt anybody, relax!

"sneakily edit his old posts" - ironic 🤨
