Pricing Ideas?

Righty ho chaps

I wish to sell quite a bit of my silver, mostly 1 oz coins and I'd like an idea of the pricing.

A goodly number will be ASE, Maples, some Aus and UK stuff, so about £16.50-17.50 each?

Also ones like Pandas, £20?

Rwanda Lunar dogs, £19 and Roosters £20 and the Santa Maria £23?

Older Aus kangaroos £25?

Ghana Leopard 100 Cedis £45?

In all around 100 oz's are these prices anywhere near right?

Type about this for a bit😁

Pricing looks good to me, especially for the Pandas, but note that recently sales of ASEs have been at 15.85 per coin. They flew out the door from what I can see. I am a buyer of them and so caveat my response in that point!!! I am NOT trying to get you to lower the price for me - just offering a response based on what I have seen over the past few weeks. Hope that is clear.

Your number seems to be way more correct when I translate it to u.s. dollars. Not sure if it differs in the UK though. These are uncirculated coins to as well. Not sure if the markets are that much different. Maybe this helps (this goes by year to as well).

Thanks, as for the ASE most are older 80's/90's so a little higher? As for the Pandas, I'll bung on a couple of quid!😊

Our prices suck in the UK on silver. Either we import from EU (costly) or we pay 20% VAT (even more costly). USA silver prices are miles better.

That's great to know I figure there was something especially with ASEs.

Is VAT only over borders or can it all be in the same country?

VAT is kind of like our equivalent of state taxes in the USA, except it applies uniformly across the UK. Most things bought and sold in the UK (or imported from overseas) attract VAT, with a few exceptions on things like children's clothing and gold (yay!). It's a flat 20% rate in the UK.

The best method for people in the UK to avoid paying that 20% VAT is to buy from within the European Union, as good moves tax free within the EU - so basically you pay the taxes in the country the dealer resides in (which is wrapped up in the cost you pay) rather than in the UK. Germany is a common location, as their VAT on Silver from government mints with a currency value is only 7% versus the UKs 20%. However that's still 7% tax before the dealer margin is applied on top, along with high shipping, so relative to spot it's still not very good.

Much easier with gold, as it's exempt from VAT in all bullion forms (gold jewellery does attract VAT).

And that's why the likes of the European Mint and CelticGold from Estonia are popular options. Shipping might be a bit higher from there, but silver at least is VAT free. :)

Either way, it seems like if you are going to order from somewhere in the EU, you better make it a bigger order to make the relative cost of shipping as low as it can be.

And yet somehow the prices never seem to reflect tax free, relative to what the US sees anyway ☹️

Yeah, they do seem to have the best prices in the US, especially if you live in one of those states that don't have sales tax. Oh well, we'll just have to make do here in Europe.
