"Exploiting the market " LOL aka running a profitable business. In the UK they'll be lucky to make 200$ profit at that price

Let's get one thing clear. I like the coin connection!

I thought it was a bit cheeky to slap another grand on the asking price within a few hours of release when they realised which way the wind was blowing.

Whoever had paddle 11065 had plenty of cash. Only managed to get 3 half sovs & not the other 3 I wanted because they kept bidding me up.

Lol you both was watching the new auction that the coin cabinet was doing. I have a question i did see 3 times think the very first coin was one of them. The hammer went down but they re opened bidding is this normal ps i didnt win any coin.s did watch the whole thing.

Not normal no but it was their 1st auction on the platform & the 1st coin was open on other platforms but not others. I couldn't bid on the first couple due to them not realising but eventually got there :)

I wanted the 1893 1 SOV PF but that went for way more than i thought it was worth. I did manage to buy the 1825 1/2 Sov MS64. I really like this coin and its in amazing shape1088061189_PhotoNov2492409PM.thumb.jpg.7e17cefe8bb0e4c532691d603343b088.jpg

Interesting in the past 24 hours, not ONE of the gold UNA & LION coins have been listed to eBay by an opportunist flipper/quick profit takers.  A few of the silver proofs are listed however

Think Ive got good feelings long term for this one, once series is over. 205 mintage, is suitably low to always be rare (supply vs demand)

Great we have a chance to own what is recognised as one the most beautiful gold coins of all time with

180+ years of history between issues.

Worldwide appeal to any gold collector - a beautiful gold coin is a beautiful gold coin

As numistacker said in his vids, once these are in a serious collection. I think this will be a keeper forever, not to see the light of day again unless totally necessary   Needs some spare cash, the krugerrands & bullion sovereigns will go before Una

Maybe no so much a winner for the silver IMO, with potential spotting issues & high initial price etc. It hasn't been an instant sell out, but can see it being a sell out before the weekend, with those with smaller pockets wanting their piece of una

Anyone else have thoughts or opinions on this

I think it could do well given the low mintage and the popularity of the design. I think most will just stay in people's collections.

Just annoyed it wasn't released in the original 5 sov size.

I to think the Gold coin has no resale value (as in we will not see them) as no one will sell it, or collectors who have missed it will have other coins to collect at the very high premiums the will be asked.

I highly doubt the possibility as QEII’s effigy needs to be on the obverse, and it would be quite strange to have QV’s effigy on the reverse.

But they’ve done “dual head” coins in the past, so there could be a small chance.

I assume they would do the Gothic reverse and Queen Liz obverse? like they've done for the Una coin

Hmm, personally I don’t think the reverse is as iconic as the obverse to warrant being part of the series, but that’s just me :)

:o I love the reverse
