Hi guys,

I'm new here so would just like to introduce myself, my name is James I'm from Manchester UK, I have recently started stacking silver as a way to save for my daughter's 21st who is currently 1 years old so for the next 20 years, my budget for silver is around about £100 per month, may increase in the future, I'm currently paying between £20 and £22 per ounce, but as a noobie I'm not sure if that is acceptable, any advice or tips you guys can give would be much appreciated.

It depends what coins you are buying but for regular bullion maybe £16 or £17  p/oz plus postage whilst Europe is still open.

eg.

I buy Britannias mix dates, however I get them from my local coin shop, for example today I purchased 3 2017 Britannias for a total of £60 so I don't have to pay postage on silver to go they charge £14 postage

Yep fair enough.

It's worth checking out the trade section on here too.

It might be a good idea to save up and buy in bulk to save on delivery. Additionally, you'll find plenty of good deals around here with cheaper postage within the UK.

i got a card for my 21st and paid for the party at university myself.
Save in gold and give the girl the gold - she might be able to buy a house with the stash by the time she gets to 21.

Welcome to the Silver Forum if you were based in the USA I would disagree with the above comments and say stack both Gold and Silver with 50/50 split but because you are here in rainy, cold, freezing Manchester I would have to agree Gold is better bet, don't get me wrong I love Silver but saving for decades to come and you're in the UK buying Gold as close to spot in Government minted coins is you're best bet.
