Indeed.  Someone’s gotta have one somewhere other than junked for recycling 😅

What size is the little on in that pick?

lovely looking set but way out of my price range!

That would be the Quarter Sovereign. Interesting I don’t see it for sale individually on the RM site; usually one can buy the Quarter individually right? 🤔

Good spot Sir.

The Quarter Sovereign has been available as a single coin in a presentation box since its inception (2009).

I know because I have them all 😀

It's good news really because I have too many collections on the go, so I can drop these.

I think @sovereignsteve dislikes them?

I was told by "LIZ" at the RM that there is NOT a quarter this year other than in SETS

Correct my man, you have a good memory.

well they are gold so can't be all bad, but too small for my eyes, I have enough problems with halves and even full sovs! So much so, I'm gradually moving up to doubles.😳

Also, they are a completely modern mint invention, no history.

That's it. The 5 shilling coin (Crown?) already existed?

Yes the crown, probably always been silver though. There may have been a 5 shilling gold coin at some point in the dim and distant past, my knowledge of older coins isn't up to scratch.
