Silver storage

Hi guys.

I am the definition of a noob stacker and I have started collecting 1 oz silver BU coins. I have a few now and am thinking about storage options.

I am thinking about adding complete tubes of coins to my collection. With this I’m mind, it seems to make sense to store my current collection in tubes too. I understand that this may be overboard but I like to keep each coin in its own capsule. I would then like to stack them in tubes. My issue is that I can’t seem to find tubes suitable for this size. A 1oz coin in a capsule is around 45mm wide so I need to tube to be at least this wide internally.

any ideas gratefully received. I’m in the UK. Thanks in advance.

I ordered some air tite capsules and associated tubes from jpscorner in the US, just waiting on them to arrive.

You may struggle to find a seller in the UK, as I did, so resorted to shipping them in across the Atlantic

Which size did you go for? I?

Check out Air-tite's.  You can look at their online size chart to decide which style (with ring or direct fit) and size capsule you need, and then just buy the matching size tube.  Tubes typically hold 20 capsules.

I would just put them in a tube for the relevant mint.  When your stack increases it will become pretty expensive to put every bullion coin in a capsule.  That money could be used on more silver.

Shadow Stack on YouTube has some good videos on storing and looking after your coins.
