We’re having trouble keeping up with physical bar demand out of our Hong Kong office right now. The mints are basically producing at full capacity,”

Hong Kongers are already free.

Sure are, but soon they'll be under China's full control.

So if they're already so free and happy and should be thankful, then why the protests do you think?

"freedom" reminds me too much of American geopolitical adventurism.

Can you elaborate on that? I told myself that I'd never entertain posts like these, but you're sounding like such a sore anti American foreigner that I just need to know more. Yes I need to know more about MY country from a FOREIGNER because I need to learn more about catch phrases like "American geopolitical adventurism"

BTW you have already used choice words about two different countries. Lets hear more Mr. expert about other nations.

Nah, I'd rather not get into a deep geopolitical discussion on here, I am here for precious metals not political debates ;)

Hong Kongers are already free. They have some of the highest standards of living in the world! So much to be thankful for already... I have a hard time seeing Hong Kongers as an oppressed people... if it were Saudi Arabia, then yes. Or North Korea. But Hong Kong? Errr... all this talk of "freedom" reminds me too much of American geopolitical adventurism.

I would agree as an American. I couldn't be happier with my freedoms. This country isn't perfect by any means, but we do have an abundance of day to day freedom and plenty of room to exercise those freedoms and our own individual capabilities. I feel very fortunate to live here and am honestly very grateful.

I once knew a Pole who managed to escape Communist Poland during the late 70's. He was an old man by the time I met him, and I always remember a quote he once said to me "If you want to know how good Capitalism is, ask an ex Communist".
