Anyone else got the email? A companion for the Victoria celebration strike on the day sovereign is planned for release soon... will also be similar to the Vic one, matt BU with a special privy (different one for Albert).

What do you think?? Does it take away from the specialness of the Victoria sovereign? Or a fitting companion? Or more £500 to spend??

Very true Numi... £500 is actually a much better deal now than it was last time round. I reckon with the higher gold prices, the 2020 proof sovereigns will probably also be more expensive, likely in the region of £500 too.

The first 5 orders will include a lock of Alberts hair from an area of the body of your choice... Yes of course its cynical manipulation but hey its only money. My Victoria 200th would never be happy unless Albert was lying there by her side. Growing interest in SOTD and low mintage with specific design unlike the first years) mean this will sell out.

Presumably the 'special edition' will require a visit to the Mint (or a body piercer of their choosing)?

:o

Well let's hope one's not shafted too

C'mon , it'll be a seminal experience. A first time.

Will it be smooth edged or ribbed for her pleasure?

Too many variations this year too, imo. Nice to see the privies and cyphers, but definitely not spending £500 for them 😬

Actually the cost of the cypher is only £140 or thereabouts which is the premium over the non cypher version. At £140 with only 650 of them its a steal
