closed Britannia 1992 Proof 4-coin Set for Gold Spot Price

REDUCED TO BULLION PRICE - ends Wednesday Night

The Britannia 4 coin proof set issued in 1992 had a limit of 500 sets.
The set comprises a 1 Toz gold coin ; 1/2 Toz ; 1/4 Toz ; and 1/10 Toz.
Total fine gold weight 1.85 Troy ounces = 57.54 grams

Presented in a leatherette case with numbered certificate.
Originally purchased from Atkinsons ( 7 years ago ) this set has been carefully stored in a safe and untouched.
However, under close inspection there are some very fine marks on the two larger coins.
There is an almost invisible fine line on the £100 coin reverse under Britannia's elbow which doesn't show easily and isn't obvious on the photo.
On the £50 coin reverse in the area formed by Britannia and the shaft of the trident there are fine rub / brush marks which can be seen on the photo.
There do not appear to be any marks on the remaining 2 coins.

Photographs were taken through the capsules so small fibres, spots or scratches on the capsules may be detected on the images.
On request I can attempt to take better pictures with capsules removed if concerned.

This identical set listed on BullionByPost website at the time of writing was listed for sale at £3,355 and might not be in any better condition.

Pete if this is still available, I will take it.

Marc - I can hold for you for the rest of the day pending a final decision to buy or not to buy ( bit of Shakespeare creeping in !! )
Are you located in Japan or would I be shipping to a UK address ?

I have not listed 3 similar sets because I wasn't getting much interest.
These also are destined for the smelter tomorrow.

1994 set immaculate condition - FDC to the best of my knowledge.
1996 ditto
1996 with a few tiny copper spots on the £50 and £10 only.

Marc, I just sold the £100 coin from the 1992 set - sorry as I said I would hold it pending a decision later.

I'm not sure if your primary interest was the year or the price.

If year then I am truly sorry but I have the same sets in better coin conditions at the same offer.

I will also check my stock within the hour and provide the other year sets that I need to look up.

Marc - the buyer of the 1992 has switched to another date as I am splitting the sets.
That means the 1992 set is still available but please read the notes about condition even though I am selling as bullion.

I am heading out for about 2 hours to retrieve the coins from other sets and will summarise what I have.
Since you do not care about the year I will ensure I pick one of the best meaning they should all be FDC coins.

Thanks

Hi Pete, it is a crying shame that such sets are being melted down, they are noting special, unlike the 2015 or 2015 sets but they are still britannia coins and if i can save them at melt, I will try my best. I work it out at approx £36.724 per gram at 57.54 so approx £2,115 plus postage per set, is that right? Would love to take 2 sets but I just bought a 2019 5 piece 50p sent from someone on this site and also 3 x £5 pieces along with another 1817 sov ms62 so short until 15th Aug.

As for the other sovereign sets, as long as you're not going to melt them, I can revisit them later and if they are sold that is not problem. If I am correct in pricing, lt me me know postage cost (not much more than domestic) and I will give yuo my address and details how to send. Please send yuor bank details.

Thanks, Marc
