Another reason to question the use of bank deposit boxes

For a large collection, I'd still prefer to have them kept off site somewhere, and a box like this is a good alternative. After all, assuming your collection is insured, you would either get your coins back or the money for them. If you dont have your coins insured... well.... anything can happen anywhere.

I would read the ToBs on a bank box and any insurance very, very carefully. No bank wants to envisage a ‘run’ so I would check exactly how you are covered. We’ve changed as a nation since Northern Rock and if Metro does go under then I rather think the people at the bank will be ‘running’ rather than ‘queuing’. How safe is your PM if the hordes break into the vaults and steal your money because Metro doesn’t have enough cash on site during a ‘run’?
