Hallo from a new stacker!

Hallo everyone,

My name is Carsten and I am from the north of Germany.

I still don't really know how I started thinking about stacking silver but three month ago I bought my first two silver coins and since that time I somehow became addicted to it.

I decided to stack 'junk' silver because I want to play with it and touch it without the need for gloves. It just feels and sounds great to take it out of the tubes, pile it up and grab into it!

At the moment I am collecting 5 Francs from Switzerland and France and US Quarters. With a little luck, you can get them really close to spot and it's not 'just' a bullion coin but also a piece of history.

The attached picture shows my actual stack. Right now it is a little more than two kilos of fine silver.

Maybe someone in here has some suggestions for other historic silver coins which are available close to spot.

Best regards,

Carsten

Hello PsyCrow and welcome to the forum. I absolutely love the look of your pile of coins there. Like many others here I agree completely when it comes to stacking these kinds of coins. there is nothing better that being able to play with them, hear them and just generally get hands on with them without fear of damaging them. Canadian junk silver makes up a good percentage of my own stack and it is quite easy to get those coins at spot or under if you are lucky. I always keep a handful of Voyageur dollars in my desk as they are my favourite coin and its nice just picking them up, playing with them or just studying them to de-stress.

Hope you enjoy your time here

They look really nice! I will have a look at them but most of the coins from outside Europe tend to be a little more pricy here. But from time to time you can find some bargains. The next coins to add to my list will probably be the 500 Lira coins from Italy. The different designs look really nice and the prices are good most of the time.
