This is a new topic for Colored Silver Coins - painted or applied, such as those covered with Ruthenium, Gold Color or any other color, or an entire application.

I decided to make one picture for my home and so I decided to buy a few coins and put them in a frame but they are extremely beautiful to hide.

They all weigh 1oz or 31g. silver. These English mints are 2oz, that is 62g. I'm still in London.

All coins have certificates and buy them from Ebay.co.uk

Also There are too many types. But they are beautiful.

I've bought them from the pictures already.

Some of the above are really nice. Not a great fan of colored coins but I have some myself. Personally I like them when they use colour to emphasize certain details of the coin and not cover the whole surface. An example are the Perth Mint Lunar original colorized versions.

The queen's beasts above are probably the furthest I would go in the use of colour in coins.

To be totally honest, some look really nice

Would i pay a premium for them coloured ? No - they are still an oz of silver in my eyes and silver is silver in colour, closest i can get an oz of silver to spot the better

If one came my way in the secondary market, a quid or two over spot would i buy one, i might do for novelty

I'm not a fan of coloured coins done outside of the mints that minted the coins. Some of them look nice but I would never buy one. I don't think they are worth the premium charged for them - something I suspect the buyer will never get back. I also think it creates a lot of confusion as people will inevitably think these come from the mint yet get confused when they can't find any information at all about them. The "mintage" or "limited" nature of them I also really don't like as it feels a bit fraudulent - how can you claim a coin that was minted in the millions is limited because you've added a bit of colour to it?

As you can tell...  these are not for me. My opinion and I appreciate when it comes to coins like this it is all about opinion. If you like them and want to show them off and get enjoyment out of them for what they are that is all that matters really.

I like coloured coins adds a bit variety to the stack but to have agree with above comments not a fan of the premiums. Most of my coloured silver coins purchased from @arshimo2012 official sponsor the silver forums who has his own seller section here https://thesilverforum.com/forum/35-arshimo2012-uk/ the price usually couple pounds above the bullion version hence the premium not that much. Few sellers on TSF also sold few Ruthenium coins with not much premium managed to buy. Some of the glided coins such as God of war silver coins done exceptionally well in terms of premium appreciation.

Overall I like the glided coins than the coloured coins but the majority I would not purchase them from a dealer (secondary market sold at a discount is fine) because of the higher premiums. Don't know had opportunity to look at Micromosaic coins powercoin website look amazing but very high premiums coins and always take risk with high premium coins when comes time to sell.

I am also not a big fan of coloured coins, but I am buying slabbed Queens beasts with various coloured NGC labels & am going to frame them. My son might embellish the backing card with some artwork (that will cost me lol) & then I will put the set/sets on my study wall.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

In the USA I have been able to purchase a lot (couple hundred) of colored Silver eagles - at close to spot. For some reason - dealers just blow them out as junk silver eagles at the local coin show I attend - I always buy them all when I see them. (I say I’m picking them up for the kids - 😉)
