Double Sovereigns

Don't know much about these, just that there are no bullion versions in the last years. Can someone find such coins in bullion prices?

With a cursory Google search, it seems you can find them at <20% premium. Not too bad given the low mintages.

With a more refined search... I don't know.

If you do find a dealer selling random choice double sovereigns you could just be sent one of the modern £2 gold coins.

So it's best to check if youre expecting a George & The Dragon.

Thanks for all the info and yes when I say Double Sovereign I don't mean a same size 2£ denomination coin. Seems that the last non proof came out before the war except a BU a few years ago. I would like to have something but wouldn't want to pay more than two sovereigns cost.

Going to be tough @Gildeon as like you say most are proofs.

I took a chance on a lucky dip double last year from HGM and got lucky with a 1990 G&D. Cost £486 delivered. 6.5% premium.
