Royal Mail At Their Very Best

Recommended Posts

So just had a knock on the door was the postie, I thought to myself I’m not expecting anything the chap handed me a letter & said it’s a return & I didn’t think much of it.

I looked more closely on the address & I was totally shocked to discover the pacakage infact was from a sale on my (UKMETALBULLIONS1) eBay account, this item was sold around early December 2017 so we’ll before Christmas. It was sent to Seychelles which is a bunch of islands basically paradise located some where in the Indian Ocean (literally looks pretty similar to most of the scenes in Lost) 🤩

At the time of sale the lady had a very low amount of feedback & I thought it was some sort of scam as if I remember correctly the package did arrive on the island, Eventually I had to give a full refund & left it at that.

I seriously don’t even remember what it was that the lady purchased but will shortly open the package & post some photos on this post, I would have never ever thought Royal mail would ever return any of the items I have lost over the years posting abroad, as one did hit the four figure number & I was only compensated £250 :(

Well the moral of the story is, always add a return label & make sure the package is extra secure even if it means spending an extra quid, Could of typed this right on the top but where’s the fun in that ;)

Guys I’m thinking should we have a raffle for the item in the package ? Would you guys be interested in a blind gamble?

The weight of the package is 0.126KG & I can feel it’s a bar so 100% 100g .999 silver or money back :)

I'd be up for that if you cap the tickets at the value of a 100g bar. Put me down for two tickets if so! :)

Will wait to hear back from @ChrisSIlver if we get the green light, I have two options for you guys;

happy to post within Europe at your risk & 1 ticket per a forum member so everyone gets a chance, better odds than the uk lottery aye 😂

Sorry, but you can't sell raffle tickets, it is against gambling regulations.

You can however auction your item. if you would like to auction it please list it in the relevant for trade section on the forum.

I have noticed on other groups that the seller usually specifies a time and date, i.e. Tomorrow auction opens at 10am and ends at 10pm. Last bid closest to 10pm wins...bids are made via the post so everybody can see it and decides whether to bid or not.

What if you set up an auction that has an entry fee. Everyone bids the same amount and then the auction winner is drawn at random because there was no auction winner?

That would still be an illegal raffle.

To everyone: please do not use this topic to discuss ways to breach the regulations.

The OP can auction this item if they would like, in the trade section, and as a standard auction, i.e. people who want to bid bid, the highest bidder wins, that would be the only way to proceed.
