Postage - help requested

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone can help.

I am selling a bulky set of silver coins in a wooden box - the weight is 2/3 kg and the value about £400.

As far as I can see the Parcelforce charge is in the order of £40 for a pickup from my home, and I uunderstand that eg Hermes will not cover the coins in transit.

Can anyone help with this? Is the RM charge reasonable?

Thank you

Special Delivery up to 10kg with up to £500 insurance is £26.60

But it would actually be cheaper to send with two parcels in special delivery

1 parcel up to 2kg is £11

1 parcel up to 1kg is £8.70

Nothing other than Royal Mail special delivery covers precious metals.

Check out parcel monkey

Parcel force delivery works out considerably cheaper than booking direct

I sent a 30kg parcel last week. Collected from my house, delivered next day for around £14

Won't be insured I bet though!
