Hefty if classified as fine art (and it appears they are when looking at the top left of the webpage when you click on a page for the coin lots)

If you are successful you will pay the hammer price plus buyer’s premium on each lot, this is charged at 22.5% + VAT (27%) of the hammer price.

If classified as vintage

Yup there is a hefty premium.

Sometimes there are real finds - less so now but they still pop up. I have not had the pleasure but a friend had has at a regional auction house.

Im wondering who does the estimates, 3 full sovs for 450-550?  Or is this reflecting the inevitable low price due to fees (:o).  Those put me off following, they seem to want to make it exclusive to partake in their auction.

Bargains can be had including commission on top but it's worth calculating your top bid with commission prior and sticking to it. You'll usually find the bids will be about "right" that everyone is working out cost with commission so sovs will be say around 200ish plus commission usually.
