Hello I wondered if I can get some advice I am looking to gather  silverware sterling etc and either melt myself  or weight in for a bar/bars

Firstly If its stamped is it silver or do some silver plate have similar markings

I have spotted Bolivian silver tongs look old and tainted and do have stamps but photo not the  clearest

Any pointers greatly appreciated

Can't help on this. All UK Silver plate have the initials EPNS or similar for older stuff. Avoid it if you are wanting to melt it down to create something in pure silver. Of course I could stand corrected but you would need to separate out the silver plate from the base metal and way too much hassle I think.

It doesn't say it on the photos so was thinking it may be real

I agree plated is no worth it

Those tongs could be genuine/solid and very cheap as they are included with other stuff for under a fiver
