i think Stephen Hawking died in the 1980's and was replaced with another mute who looked similar but not the same. Is this on the coins?

Always cast your vote - Spoil your ballot slip. Put 'Spoilt Ballot - I do not consent.' These votes are counted. If you do not do this you are consenting to the tyranny. None of them are fit for purpose.

Prob midnight as usual.

Fingers crossed it is. Will be interesting to see the final design and see how it compares to the Isaac Newton 50p.

I’m not sure it would fit.

Yes defo interesting.

As discussed with @AgD,  there might be a Newton / Hawking set of some kind. I found a proclamation in the gazette that stated amendments that seemed to suggest that they could make the Newton coins with a 2019 year date on it!

Anything to make a bit of money as I thought the 2019 Newton was only ment to be a strike your own but I would have to get it for the collection 😂

Is that the design? Looks terrible

I hope the design is better than that too.

That would make a good set. Not sure about the redating and no new / slight change in the design. Only time will tell what they decide to do.

whats the chances this one wont enter circulation either ?

High chance it won't. I think this way of future releases to come. As someone else mentioned special commemorative coins are the latest business development for the mint.

Unless you have the ocd to have to collect all coin releases just do what I do and buy what you like and not what might go up in value over time.

i have actually got the design of this new coin. I was surprised to see it had Stephen Hawking's real year of death - 1985. He died of pneumonia and was replaced by a look alike. The idea was everyone believed what Stephen Hawking said but he never said anything 😜 - They could say any sh1t over his computer and people just believed it.

It's going to be interesting to see how the gold proofs fare on these. The first Paddington was very very slow (off the back of a poor mintage silver offering imo) but the second, the Snowman and then the Gruff (the three single releases since I think?) sold out in a day. Is that a subset of gold proofs (children's favourites) and will this revert to the Newton pattern (a very slow sell even at such a small mintage) or has there been a growing worldwide interest in 50ps full stop? This issue will give some idea I think. It's not a universally appealing set (pun intended, the later 'Hawking' was a complete dunce) but if it sells within a week that will be good news for anyone with the 50p proofs imo. 600/700 worldwide is a tiny mintage, it won't take much if a collector base grows around these. Or will the mint mess it up again and mint too many? Going to be interesting!

If it's a hit I shall owe some big apologies on here for recommending against the Newton!

Was it NASA, the NWO or the lizards that replaced him?  Or are they all one and the same along with all the royal families, bankers and space agencies?

I could quite believe the pm is a lizard or has been replaced by a robot judging by her attempts at dancing.
