I understand that the Perth Mint have set the mintage of the silver at 250,000 (500,000) last year and 20.000 for the gold (5,000) last year. I am going to the mint on Sunday & will pick up one of the silver coins.

Just to reply to the question about the coin being tarnished - it's not just bad lighting on my part.

There is no proof version of the 2019 yet but expect there will be. There was a gap of a few months between the release of the 2018 billion and proof versions last year.

I've just picked up my first Dragon Bar (2018) in the January Group Order, and I have to say that I can see why these are so popular!

I'm not usually a fan of anything with an oriental theme/dragons, but these bars definitely tick a lot of boxes with me and I'll certainly be adding a few of the 2019 versions to my modest stack in due course.

I think this design, though similar, looks better than last year.  There was something about the cloud lines on the 2018 that was off putting.

The lines on the 2018 version is a valid criticism however I'm not sure I prefer the dragon in the 2019 version. The scales seem a lot less detailed by comparison. Maybe I just need to see it in the flesh, I'm sure I'll end up buying it regardless as it's just minor.

This being said I'm happy that Perth mint are continuing with it as a series as I think it has the best of both worlds as a coin/bar and generally it's quite different to what's out there.
