Trading gold for silver

Hello all,

First off - This is a discussion and not an offer of trade

I have a 50g gold bar I was thinking of selling and purchasing some silver coins with the funds.  After looking at the forum I havent seen many (If any actually) of other posts in the trade section where this is the purpose of selling.

 

Should I look to sell at spot on the forum and then look to just buy what I want or will I get a better deal holding out and finding someone who wants to trade?  Either way I would take a postage hit but I am thinking a one off postage for a 50g gold bar is better for me.  Do trades like this even take place, I purchased the bar to increase my gold/oz but I have since purchased other gold coins that I prefer to hold.

 

I think writing this I have answered my own question but I would love to hear thoughts in case I have missed something obvious.

When you go to the For Sale, and you make a Sale thread, theres an option to select the type:

The Sale, Wanted, Exchange, Experession of Interest. just click the required radio button.
