4 coin proof sovereign set

Recommended Posts

Originally sold by RM for £1100 in 1980 with a single sov. at £110.

Being cheeky the RM with their buyback scheme are advertising the same coin for £395!

Nice set, but the mintage was 100,000.It was the 1st of the modern 4 coin gold sets. I have 1982 set probably about same value whatever that is!

Good luck

@Pete

many thanks mate I knew the BINs were going to be ridiculous!!

@JunkBond

I did have a check through their prices but it seems to be a bit of a bad shoot on what you end up with.

@Britannia47

Agreed I’m sure the mintage on these won’t make them rare.

are these worth grading or should I just leave them raw??

worth grading in my opinion

then sell each coin seperatly

not many PF70 for 1980 sovereign !

if you get 70 on any of them will increase the value by far ...

Great pick-up! I agree on the Quintuple Sovereign. Arnold Machin's effigy of QE2 is my favorite. :ph34r:

It’s definitely a nice effigy, I grew up in the 80s and every time I see it I’m reminds me of old chunky 50p pieces!!

im amazed by the original purchase cost of these £1100 in the 80s would have given these a mark up of £7-750 over the bullion content back then. to think that these have only gone up by the bullions content is quite scary.
