Are you after the proof or the sotd? I paid under 700 for a sotd in the box a few months back which I thought was a good price.

£700 - £800 for a boxed example.

Up to £1100 for a PF / MS70 at the moment.

The last 2 graded ms70 on eBay fetched £800

I'd personally go for the proof version which can be picked up for around the same price

But I wonder if the collectors on the forum are tempted by this quick-cash or are holding onto them regardless?

True, there were quite a few full proofs but the half and SOTD were low mintage.

Thanks, but I think the SOTD would be out of my price range. I’m happy enough to get a higher mintage version.

I think you need to say what your budget is, and which coin you want.  The vagueness is only going to cause confusion, especially given the very similar designs.

Apologies I’m learning as I’m going. I wasn’t aware there was a higher mintage proof at a similar price as I’d only read about the SOTD. My price range is around the £650-700 mark, but as I’m reading that’s enough.

2017 is one of my favourite modern designs. It's simple yet elegant. I need to get a proof 2017 myself, but have the half, quarter and sotd (sotd my fav).

The last one I can find of these selling on Ebay was for £1000.

There is one for sale at £850, but it appears if you were patient you could snag a grand for it. I'm definitely holding onto mine.

A 2017 msdpl70 just sold for £890 after buyer’s premium but not including postage.

A 5 coin set just sold for £4,300 before postage, £400 more than one sold in September.
