Do third party coin grading services include reports or explanations?

I don't think they give explanations and I bet they would not want to. Especially when one sends a a coin that many will grade at MS 70 and you get back a MS 68 for example. I know I'm not the only one that thinks that these grading companies are trying to somewhat control population and prices of at least some of the types of coins/medals.

In 4 coins graded by NGC they explained one grade to me 😁

Did you request an explanation? If so then I have also had a few explanations but they do not volunteer anything or provide it as a regular part of the service. I did have a long dialogue with them once over whether a 1902 double sov was proof or circulation and they will provide evidence if pushed.

No.  There are guides on both the PCGS and NGC websites to explain what they will and won't grade.

The grade itself is often indicative though.

When you say what they will and won't grade, do you mean that they won't grade certain coins, or do you mean what criteria they include in their grading?
