Grading modern sovereigns

Perhaps it is worth grading modern proof sovereigns after all?

I was always against it, I mean, they are new right? Untouched, kept in safes and dressers etc.

But it seems to make economic sense, at least the Three Amigos seem to be doing well out of it.

Would any year do though?

I have loose 2002s, half and full. Loose 2005s, half and full. These should do well.

Would I be able to recover the cost of grading, and that's assuming they grade well?

I bought one of the loose 2005 sovereigns from Bullion by Post and was contemplating having it graded partly to give it a decent "home" in the absence of a box and COA and partly to see how good it was.  I discussed it with a coin expert who was quite sniffy about the value of grading modern sovereigns even proofs of the special design years.  When pressed he did say that it may be worth grading early sovereigns (by which I think he meant Mary Guillick ones).
