Thats odd. People who ordered way after you have had theirs. Have you had any emails?

I phoned them again today and gave the poor guy hell, I did apologise and thanked him for his help though.

He said he's handled calls from people who'd ordered before me and were still waiting too, although it is still within the 5 - 10 working days they originally quoted for delivery. He was going to email the warehouse to hurry them up.

By far the worst thing he told me was that the warehouse staff get random orders issued to them to fulfil by their computer system. Apparently no one thought of programming the computer to issue orders strictly in the order they were placed!

Or maybe their programmer told them it was too difficult. :P

I just hope you get them. Its a very strange way of handling orders 😕 Maybe they'll say anything to get customers off their back 😁

You don't give the Mint the credit it's due.

They realised that most people who had ordered three would be flipping the other two, so sent those out immediately to help the customers be the first to list them on ebay.

The biggest profits were made by the first listings.

Those who wanted to keep the coins for their numismatic value or simply because they were cute, or those who had ordered multiples before (and therefore doted on their grandkids), wouldn't be in a rush to receive theirs and could wait.

It's the Royal Mail not the Royal Mint who have an issue with Lancashire. They are waiting for a break in the weather.

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

You forgot to mention these eBay buyers would also like to have the low mintage numbers as they are better sellers on eBay! I ordered mine on the night that they came out, I got my order yesterday and the mintage number was 11000+++ - you'd think if you were amongst the first orders you'd also be in the lower mintage numbers! But not with the Royal Mint 😕

The number has nothing todo with the order produced afaik. Mine were in the same range as yours, higher in fact and ordered on the Monday. When i ordered a proof bull it came with no COA so they sent me one out separatly in its own little packaging so they clearly have them separate and just add as they wish. So while a low coa is always "nicer", its only a number, not to do with the order minted from what I can tell.

Yeah I totally agree with this, and like you I'm not fussed about the mintage number, it would have been nice to have got a lower number - but hey that's life! I've collected whisky for a while now and by getting my order in earlier I've gotten hold of lower numbers ie Bottle number 123 of 1000 - might have just been a fluke though!

How would someone explain my low COA then. I ordered 5 minutes after they were put on the site. Or was it just a coincidence?

Yeah, for the paddingtons for example, I ordered at midnight and my numbers were not that low. In the 50k i think, so i think they just grab whatever is closest ratehr than say "order no 1 gets cert no 1, order no 2 gets no 2" etc etc

No ordinary mortal gets No.1 That goes to the Head of State, I believe but could be wrong.

What about number 2

Added 0 minutes later...

What about number 3

I expect they keep the first few either to themselves or for VIPs.

I have had two orders (five proof coins) from one dealer that have been in the first 100, three of them in the first 50 even. It's a good feeling thinking back to receiving them I must confess :) I won't name the dealer because it's too small a sample beyond coincidence for now.

My Snowmen are in the last hundred which I'm quite happy with.

in some Facebook groups i see people searching for COAs with numbers relevant to them, like 01978 or 05944 (5th sept 1944)

I expect they would pay a higher premium for them?

What about number 4 😁

@kimchi I suppose thats the next best thing to having a low number 🙂

Be nice to have 15,000.

Well it's better than a slap round the face with a wet kipper I reckon :) I wouldn't ever expect to see one below 20 tbh, I've been very surprised to get one close to that.

I certainly wouldn't want 666 :o

I'm tempted to leave mine to the family, when the year 14906 rolls around they'll be quids in!

Shame I didn't get three might have had a nice run lol

It always amazes me when I get three from the mint that are never consecutive, but are just a few numbers apart. You'd expect some sort of well-trained production and packaging line really wouldn't you? But oh no, not the Mint, seems they just chuck them in any old how!

Prices definitely softened on these now, £120 seems to be the average

They will go back up, a lot more seasonal than Peter 2016 but almost as promising medium-term imvho, plus you have the Xmas rush right now from those who missed out, even if the flippers are swarming at the moment - it won't always be so. More than happy to hold these for now myself :)

Indeed, my 3 white boxes are tucked away until prices harden, my challenge is do I hang onto the gold one or not...?

it doesn’t fit my collection, but nice to have one
