I just got through after 20 mins wait.  

I bought x2 @£75 each plus a fiver postage. 

The call handler made me aware that this £75 Edition is stock recalled from dealers as there is so much demand.  They come with a black surround, but don’t come with a COA. 

The call handler told me the reason I could only have 2 is because she could only match the order I had already placed for the white limited 15000 edition with COA. 

Funny, because I bought one online on Monday morning and a further 2 on the phone yesterday.  

The online order came yesterday, and I flipped it on eBay straight away.  I haven’t decided what to do with the other two but I’ve just received an email to say the other two are Despatched.

I’m pleased I managed to get these other two, but it does appear that there isn’t much consistency in the selling of them.  

 

Many thanks @richatthecroft , reading between the lines (not yours, theirs!) I'm not gutted to have missed out on these now. The bit I've bolded - the first sentence I don't believe for a second (again from their end, not yours!). Your second sentence makes me very wary.

I'm not that annoyed I missed out on these, if they came with proper COA then I would be.

Thanks for the tip @arshimo2012. Just got off the phone with RM and though I tried to order 3 they said they might limit it to 1 per household as there is such high demand - I would know when they (or it) shipped. Thought that was very odd. Can confirm what others are saying that it is being sold with black surround and no coa at £75.

So they told you black box at RM? Whats going on? They told us only white available and the sides were stamped with RM crest.

Yep that's right - the person I was on the phone with said specifically black box and no coa when I asked how it is packaged

This is all very odd. you'll have to post pics when you get them. Did they say how long? They told us 21 days.

Yeah was told it could take up to 21 days. The odd thing for me was being told that they'll put me down for three but they might decide to limit it to 1 per household if demand continues to be high. Guess that'll be a guessing game until my card is charged

White Box With Gold RM Lettering, Inside is a black box without a Numbered COA, These could be very interesting when people Write 00001 on the COA and sell them on E Bay, Loads of Number one Snowmen.??????

Yey!! Managed to order two of the ‘stamped box’ version.

The details I got:

 - Recall from a retail partner

- White Box with black insert with RM stamped twice

- There will be some form of COA, but they are arranging that at the moment

- Around 4 week lead time as they need to inspect the coins, I presume repackage and then post out

Could be @Harry I liked and bought the first Beatrix Potter gold proof 50p (150th anniversary of her birth). It was my first ever gold proof coin. I like the 750 maximum mintage so just 400 for your new coin should be a joy. Enjoy.

It’s a white box with a black insert with two RM stamps on the box. The coin will still be in an acrylic holder inside the box.

They probably aren;t part of the 15000 mintage otherwise they'd have the full packaging.

The dealer may have been licensed to do something with alternative packaging but it didn't happen.
