Format problems in replies using @(username) - Firefox PC

Recommended Posts

Hi @ChrisSIlver,

Using Firefox on Windows when I use the @(username) to tag user(s) in a post, unless I put some spaces or hard returns after the point I wish to insert them, and then go back and put them there, the reply just locks up and I can't get any further than the cursor being stuck in the username selected from the drop down list.

It's an easy enough workaround to insert spaces in advance, but I often don't remember and so compose a reply which then 'locks up'. I have to cut (copy to clipboard) the part without the username, exit the thread, re-enter and 'reply' again, and then use 'clear editor', paste the part without the username, and then do the space/hard return 'trick'.

Anyone else have this problem? It's not my PC unless the forum software is not up to date with older versions of Windows.

Cheers for you help in advance :)

@kimchi I suspect it is to do with older version of windows or browser.

I had been having loads of problems with the forum on my 8 year old macbook (running old system software for reasons I won't bore you with).

Bought a new macbook air and straight away "sweet as a nut" 👍

Except I cannot update my debit card details for membership. 🤔

I have tested on firefox and it is working fine on my browser.

For all those memebrs who are experiencing an issue with the mention feature, if you are able to tell me the version of windows software (or mac) and the version of firefox broswer you are using I can then report that to the software developer to look into. In the meantime if you could either press the mention button next to the memebrs name you wish to mention, or use another broswer for the time being.

Latest Firefox but 'private mode', thanks Chris.

Please can you try in normal mode and see if that fixes the issue?

@ChrisSIlver working fine now (Windows 7, Firefox) here thanks, did you change something?

Not sure why that is, but happy everything is now working :)
