Rent out your car

Recommended Posts

Anyone who owns a car knows that they bleed money from your pocket over time. I've heard it said that buying a car is probably the mots negative EV decision the average person makes in their life (not sure about that.. try having kids lol)

Well, make that car work for you. Moneyweek had an interesting article https://moneyweek.com/496270/car-sharing-apps/

I've been aware of these schemes for a while, but having just bought a car in the last 6 months it has refreshed my mind.

AirBnB for cars... a nice little side earner.

I am on the other side of this. I don't have a car, but when I need one I use one of several short lease companies that provide cars. For longer use quite expensive, but still cheaper than buying of leasing a car on my one (for my kind of usage).  I only use the professional companies, because that way I know the quality of the car.

I've had a couple of instances of prior customers not leaving the car tidy, but companies repond ok to complaints.

I lend my car out when I’m not using it.  I do 25k miles a year and hammer my car so happy to lend to friends and family.

Cars are just cars for me, I used to have nice cars, I now just focus on PM’s

I know a guy who wanted a Mk1`Escort Mexico but could not afford the 40-50K they go for nowadays, what he could afford was a brown 5 door mint MK1 for 7K so he bought that and hired it out to film and TV companies that need cars of that time period where he got £100+ a day for it and he got his MK1 Mexico 2 years later with very little additonal outlay according to him.
