am I just getting old or is time really speeding up?

it doesn't seem like 2 minutes ago we were discussing the 2017 proof sovereign, now we're on to the 2019!!

It does seem like yesterday we were discussing the 2017 doesn’t it!? Time does fly.

This may sound naïve but can anyone advise where I should be chackling so as to not miss out on a 2019 special edition run if their is going to be one like they did on the 2017 etc.

And secondly any advise on where to get x 10 of the new 2019 Bullion Sovs when they come out. Is it at RM Bullion or is it better to wait till Atkinson and the likes get them in?

There are some traders on here who might be able to get you some good deals on the proof sovereigns cheaper than RM - they usually post a day or 2 before they are out there.

Can you drop me a PM with some suggestions please.

If the RM keeps doing special designs they wont be that special anymore 🤨

I just spoke to a contact at RM Collector Services I met at the Coin show, and as far as she knows there is no special edition this year. But she dis admit they don't know themselves sometimes, so take it as you like.

Yes, I think it unlikely. They'll just re-issue the standard design as a SOTD for some obscure reason as per their current habit.

Well let me ask a newbie question, what do you guys want to see the mint come out with the 2019 design? A plain ole regular proof sovereign or something new and exciting to whet collector's appetites? I don't wish to see the Royal Mint become like the Royal Canadian Mint but it would be nice to keep collector's interests high. Just my 2c.

Personally i want the plain old G&D for the massive majority of years, the different designs are desirable because there hasnt been that many over the years..and since the sovereigns started over 200 years ago you can count the designs on both hands, if they make a new design every few years they just wont ever really be rare.

I would rather see the Britannia change its design more often and keep the sovereign as it is - one of the if not thee most recognizable gold coins in the world.

I wonder if it will be a standard proof sovereign or something like they've been doing over the last several years? I also am curious to know if the mint will come out with a special sovereign for PC 70th and if so will it be the same as George's 5th birthday sovereign?

I see that delivery for the BU version will be in 7-10 working days. Does this mean that they do intend to release a strike on the day version soon? And if so, will it be what we saw with George's 5th birthday sovereign? Should be fun to find out, or not.
