Royal Mints Britannia Minted Bars

Wondered what people thought about the new gold and silver Britannia bars from the Royal Mint.

 

Would these be worth buying for an increase in premium value down the road (Assuming they change the design)?

I quite like the minimalist/modernist design; Britannia almost has an "Art Deco" look to her

I'd be tempted to get a few, as a bit of a punt if they're available "sans VAT" from the usual European outlets - at a decent price, of course!

I am curious to see what the long term plan for Britannia bars are. It would seem if they were going for a design change, that they would put the year on the bar. Perhaps this will always be the design and I'm ok with that because it's absolutely gorgeous.

My maths says If buying one one Atkinson’s work out close to cheapest to avoid the EU postage?

Lee at Precious Gold and Silver is selling the silver bar a fiver cheaper than Atkinsons are selling them for, works out at £163.98 inc VAT and postage from him.

I got one off eBay 2 weeks ago for £163 delivered so worth a look on there any one that’s after one, really pretty bar and good feel in the hand 👍🏼

Available in Canada through SilverGoldBull. It's a beautiful piece of art.  The design makes the bar appear bulkier than many other bars. Planning to buy one more.  I think it's a great marketing move by the Royal Mint! I wish the Royal Canadian Mint would get away from their boring design.

I like them, always been a fan of britannia. 

Not sure about any increase in premium however.
