I'm hearing they have no right to use the 5 Mark denomination on this as it's a round and not an authorised coin so a "Brittania Rules The Waves" scenario might exist where they are forced to remove this in the future so the intial round might become more of a collectors item should this happen.

Are the Germans not still using the Deutchemark?  I was under the impression transactions were still carried out today using it, it's a well kept secret right enough.

It’s the Euro now in Germany, as far as I’m aware the mark was no longer legal tender from 2002.

Can't see that personally. The coin says 'MARKS' and not 'DEUTSCHE MARKS', so not sure how Germany is being infringed, especially given 'Mark' has been the currency unit of quite a few countries, although I think only one uses it now.

I would suggest this is made up to create demand.
