Does anyone own Treasure Bullion?

Hi All

Very simple question.  Does anyone own any treasure coins / bullion? By that I mean recovered treasure from:

1715 Fleet (Atocha etc)

Gairsoppa

HMS Edinburgh

USS Central America

Saddle Ridge Hoard

etc

Hi @dicker  I have some 8 reales and a bullion bar, from Hollandia, an unknown wreck with chop marks and one I can't recall name of offhand.

I am rather transfixed by the 8 Reals recovered from the 1715 fleet off of Florida.

RMS Douro sovereigns crop up on eBay fairly often at reasonable prices.

 

The only treasure like gold I have are my Spanish King Phillip II gold cob escudos (doubloons) of pirate fame.

I like chop marks, gives it even more history but I guess the purists treat it as vandalism

I like the the chop marks myself.  Started with a George III dollar, then 8 reales, then chop marks.  Maybe one day I'll get a counter struck but a bit pricey for me.

Collecting coins got me interested in history again.  I'm collecting Scottish hammered coins as well but they're hard to come by at a decent price.

Funnily enough, was tidying up my junk box when I found this in a small envelope inside a flip.   I have absolutely no idea where I got it but I'm not complaining.  Think it's a 1671 Charles II half merk, obverse isn't great but reverse has some decent detail.  Thankfully, I didn't just chuck t thinking it was just a old flip.

Well, I ended up removing the label on my Gairsoppa 1/4 oz coins.  I wanted to check them out, and the label was filthy.  At some point in the process, the tube slipped out of my hands.  I went to grab it, but instead swatted it across the room.  Regretfully, the cap came off and sprayed the coins across the living room like a shotgun.  I found 13 of them so far.  Ugh, still searching.

Ouch! I feel for you.

Recovered.  One coin was damaged.  I ordered a new one to replace it.

Put the damaged coin in an AirTite coin holder and now you can keep it as a pocket piece/lucky coin to carry along with you all the time.
