Thank You for being upfront, clear, and taking the time to put together not only a good thread on the next order - but taking the time to arrange more discounts, and of course invest your time in the first place of taking these deliveries and turning your house / premises into a sorting room.

(i wasnt involved in the last group buy, but i could see the effort oozing from your pores!)
nice one

Hi there,

I'm a brand new member on this forum as I was compelled to join out of a guilty conscience. I will explain.

During my lunch break I was googling the Scottsdale Mint (as they have nice looking Stacker bars) and I wanted to know if anyone knows the shipping costs to Europe. I inadvertently stumbled onto this thread and saw the discount code, which I promptly wrote down for future usage.

I fully intend to use the code for my new purchase but I was compelled to become an member of the forum (which I wanted to do anyway at some point in the forum) in order to say hello from the mainland and thank you to @BackyardBullion for his continued service, both on Youtube as well as for these large group orders.

Cheers

Just ordered 11oz of silver coins using your voucher byb. Worked out at an average £14.53 an ounce (landed and all fees included) for: 5x 2018 britannias, 1x Bloody Krugerrand, 1x queens beast 2oz bull, 1x philharmonic random year, 1x maple random year and 1x predator wolf

Excellent value. Thanks again for the voucher BYB / European mint

I've wrote a little guide to help others with the ordering (as I found it a tad confusing cos I is a bit simple) using transferwise to pay:

1 - Open accounts with both transferwise and European mint

2 - On transferwise, go to https://transferwise.com/user/recipients/list and click 'add recipient'. Enter the European mints name, email address (I used their sales email address) and iban number which can be found here: https://www.europeanmint.com/terms/#payment

3 - On transferwise still, add another recipient, which will be Capital logistics this time (Fun/helpful fact: You have to pay for (instruct) the courier seperately to paying for your order for the European mint to be able to legally sell the vat free silver to you (don't worry guys, it's tax avoidance, not tax evasion...)). The details for capital logistics are also found on: https://www.europeanmint.com/terms/#payment

4 - Now the fun bit, Fill your boots/basket on the European mint website with cheap, cheap silver (be sure to add some Krugerrands 😛 ). Keep the currency in euros on the site

5 - Go to your basket on the European mint site and fill in the shipping estimate section at the bottom. Click 'get quote'

6 - Select insured standard delivery. Then click 'update total'.

7 - Enter BYB's magical code in the discount code section and press 'apply coupon' (p.s. you can't apply two codes as per my earlier question in the thread, I tried. It didn't work)

8 - Press 'Proceed to checkout'

9 - Fill in your billing and shipping info

10 - Keep your shipping method as the top option. It will still say the full shipping fee even though you've entered your discount code. This is OK. Breath. It's all going to be ok. You'll get your shiny soon little magpie...

11 - Press place order. It'll take you to a screen that has the bank details that we've already put in transferwise above, plus your order numbers (one for silver, one for shipping). Take a note of these for the following steps. This page also tells you the exact price you have to pay each of the two companies (and takes into account your discount).

12 - Go back to the recipient area of transferwise. Click on the European mint and press 'send money'. Type the exact amount in euros that you owe the european mint into the euros section of the payment screen. This will auto update the gbp section above it. I selected fast and easy transfer in the drop down menu as I wanted to pay by card.

13 - Press continue. When you get to the review section, make sure you put the European mint order number from step 11 into the 'reference for the European mint' box. Then progress through until it says you've been successful.

14 - Repeat steps 12 and 13 but using the capital logistics recipient that we set up on transferwise and their information/payment amount/order number. Even though the voucher is 50% off the shipping, the full shipping fee plus tax still has to be paid to capital logistics. The discount was taken off the price that had to be paid to the European mint.

15 - Sit back and wait for your silver to arrive.

16 - Cry when silver plummets in value tomorrow and you wish you'd hung on a bit longer...

Any idea what company transports the goods in the UK. The tracking info on  https://www.omniva.ee said that my parcel had "expired from the country of departure of the sender" on the 7th. But nothing since. I was just wondering whether the tracking would continue to be provided on the above website, or whether it would transfer to dpd or something in this country?

  • 2 weeks later...

Wow...loving the immense number of 10oz coins...  New member so troweling through the posts for tips and advise, not purchased from European Mint so had a look..prices seem inline with Apmex where I normally purchase, the discount on the transport does bring them down.. just selected random 6 coins and the price gap was only 1 dollar, though increased to 23 dollars with the discounted transport (thanks BYB). As I am not in Europe I dont get the advantage on the VAT so the transport discount does make a difference.

Though may look at joining the group order and sending to my UK address... will check out how it all works.

Appreciate the tips and advise :)

Hi, newbie here just joined and already enjoying reading so many informative posts. A special thanks to Mr & Mrs Byb. I’ve been following you on you tube for a while and have learned so much from both you and your followers. I’m interested in the next order your placing. What’s the process, or do you start another thread for that?
