I only started collecting two weeks ago Cookiesilver, It started off with two 1 oz Silver bars and I wasn't going to buy any more for a month, the bug bit me and now I have eleven bars and wanting more!

I think that I might be in need of help as this is starting to become an obsession...😨

I just calculated the value gold would need to be in order to extinguish the $70 Trillion world debt (based on all the gold ever mined to date) to be approximately $12,833 per oz.

I then found this video from over a year ago on the Julias Maltby channel, when the debt was only $63 Trillion. It estimates the value to be around $12,000 too. £9,900 in Pounds Sterling.

Skip to 8 minutes then to 12 minutes but try to watch the whole video it is a good watch!!!

How many ounces at this price would you need to repay your mortgage at a possible economic reset? That is my target figure (15 ounces).

If you subscribe to the Junius Maltby channel please comment that “Mancunian Stacker” mentioned this video. He’s a good guy and puts a lot of content out there.

That's a great start. Key thing now is pacing. There's always more tempting shiny, but it's sticking to your budget that lets you keep growing a pile month in month out ☺️

Also, don’t move house. There’ll never be money for shiny again. 😞

Is $70 trillion an accurate figure considering the US debt alone is nearing $22 trillion.

Others are reporting $233 trilion total debt:

http://uk.businessinsider.com/global-debt-his-record-233-trillion-debt-to-gdp-falling-2018-1

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/05/global-debt-level-hits-233-trillion-record-high-in-q3-2017iif.html

Which would bring the required gold price to around the figure of $50k I have seen quoted.

I’d be happy with that! Once you work in other Derivatives which have an unknown value we are into the quadrillions!

I was airing on the most conservative side, so a bare minimum of $12,833 per ounce up to sky’s the limit really.

Buying a street for 1oz of gold wouldn’t be too bad.

This is why central banks hold gold. One day they will have to reset and base it against something and it’s usually gold

i posted this story on another thread - Russia Should Consider Gold-backed Crypto....

https://www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2018/08/russia-should-consider-gold-backed-crypto-for-weapons-export-says-lawmaker-vladimir-gutenev/

You will be seeing this more and more as the world de-dollarises.

Always cast your vote - Spoil your ballot slip. Put 'Spoilt Ballot - I do not consent.' These votes are counted. If you do not do this you are consenting to the tyranny. None of them are fit for purpose.
A tyranny relies on propaganda and force. Once the propaganda fails all that's left is force.

COVID-19 is a cover story for the collapsing economy. Green Energy isn't Green and it isn't Renewable.

These calculations are fun, but I really don't think it's likely that anyone is going to go back to a gold standard IMHO.

True but it doesn’t have to. Inflation could just get out of control, especially if Corbyn just printed enough currency to pay off the national debt

You mean the national debt that the conservatives more than doubled in their first five years in power?

I’m not a fan of any government but I believe it was also Gordon Brown who sold off the the majority of the gold reserves at a rather low price. It wasn’t the greatest move especially with all his economic qualifications
