It seems as if the Royal Mint committee are all Yes men to the boss, too afraid to speak out about poor designs. Or maybe they think they can churn out what they want as they think we're all gullible. I don't understand the design of this coin, why the night sky and a farmhouse in the background?!!

Seems the Perth Mint Lunar II Pig is due out 4th September. No doubt a better design than the Royal Mint. Better be!

Difficult to be worse anyway!

Think it's brilliant - as it will save me a fair bit of money - coz there's not a cat in hells chance I will be buying that!! Amateurish bordering on hideous! RM should ashamed - and I cant imagine Queenie is too chuffed with having her face slapped on reverse of that?

I am afraid I will go for the gilded one, as I am going for the series. 😳

But this series is going from bad to worse and I think it may acquire a cult status in the future. 🤖

i have only just clicked on this thread.

This is an abomination. They have made a complete pig's ear of the design.

@Kman

Have you seen this?

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. - H.L. Mencken

To be honest this seems like a great flop coin. If they continue to release it. I can see it being a black sheep and fetching high premium later.

I mean I guess all the snowflakes will start collect them, considering it raises breastfeeding awareness.

Glorious indeed! Still looks like a pig roast with canabalistic piglets feeding on the roasted pig, as you can see the smoke rising from the ground.

This is the interesting angle isnt it?  Will it (or the dog) be a valuable part of the series in years to come due to low popularity at the time, and collectors taste change.

The queens face is the front of the coin. Unless you're calling the queen a pig of course...
