Side Project - Cigar Boxes

Recommended Posts

I have been having a little fun playing around with cigar boxes for coin presentation.  I picked up some cheap boxes from a local cigar shop, removed the stickers, deodorized, and cleaned them up.  I lined the tops with felt and cut some foam to cover the bottoms with custom holes for my coins.  Its just something fun to do and a cheap way to present some custom sets in a box.

I'm not super happy with the foam that I'm using.  Its the thin sheets that you can get at a craft shop.  I would like to find something a bit thicker and with a nicer finish.  Hey @Alun what kinds of foam do you use in your boxes?

My wife does paper crafts and has a Silhouette cutting machine.  It can cut paper and very thin foam.  I think I would need a metal die that I could hammer/press or a laser cutter to cut thicker sheets of foam.
