**July/August 2018** Group order from The European Mint

Why is that if they're produced by the same mint?  I know the Canadian coins have milk spot issues, do some of the Australian coins have the same? Ta.

I don't know. I know the roo is a cheaper bullion coin, so I guess they don't use the same processes or chemicals on them?!

I would recommend some perth mint coins - kookaburras and koalas. Relatively cheap but always spotless (literally). The kangaroos on the other hand...

Yeah, they look very nice.  I actually ordered today from Silver-to-go some Kangaroos and a Kookaburra, Cayman Marlin, Somalia Elephant, and a few other things that either are not on GS.be or for which there is not much price difference - to go along with the Isle of Man PU coins.  But everything else is at least 1 EUR cheaper on GS.be.  But given what has been said above I will have a look at European Mint

Don't forget this though!

EXCLUSIVE PRICE MATCH GUARANTEE

They have offered to price match the following items with GS.be

  • Any coins from the Queen's Beast Series (bullion), 10 oz & 2 oz - including the 10 oz dragon & 2 oz bull (although EU Mint are actually cheaper right now!)
  • Oriental Border Britannias
  • Perth Mint Dragon Bars
  • Regular bullion coins, Britannias, Maples, Philharmonicas, kangaroos, koalas, pandas, kookaburras and eagles (2018 versions). Back dated years is on a case by case basis.
  • The new Royal Mint two dragon coin

Other items will have to be on a case by case basis. Some items cannot be price matched because of the volumes that The European Mint buys them in does not allow any room for movement in price. However for the list of coins above we are able to get the same unit price per coin.

No idea but they are treated/delivered as badly as Royal Mint bullion in my experience. Yes they have/can develop milk spots, the one tube of Perth Roos I bothered with was also toned which is quite 'impressive' on a brand new coin - I can only presume the blanks used were toned to start with.

It's all very much a mystery to me as their premium coins are usually so good (though the Emu was Perth, right? - I heard of one of those spotting very soon after receipt).

Works out to around £14.20 an ounce. You can get generic coins (maples etc) a tad cheaper, but they have nowhere near the premium potential that these QB's do. And they're nowhere near as good looking. So it's a yes from me!

I actually ordered a quantity of these 10oz QB Griffins from GS.be last week, to get some more weight into my stack, but CGT-free and with a premium potential.  When I did the sums it was the same price per ounce as their 1kg "coin bars" which I assume would be the cheapest silver they are selling, so it looks like an excellent investment choice.  They are due to arrive on Monday so I will see what the condition is like …..

How much is 60oz shipped to Sweden cheapest possible?

60 PM bars

Going to be a maximum of 55 oz in the parcel (up to 2kg)

Only £250 insurance too - so at your risk.

OK Guys.

Unexpected and happy update!

The first weeks group order will be shipped in the next few days.

There are a few reasons for this - it is plainly obvious that the 5 weeks worth of orders is going to amount to well over 1000 oz. I genuinely think all told these 5 weeks would yield 1500 oz of silver! So, to save on weight the EU mint has decided to ship the first weeks order now with some of my silver shot that I have also ordered.

Another reason is (and those of you subscribed to the EU Mint's newsletter will know this) the manager is going on a vacation for a few weeks and consequently there will be delays and backlogs of orders upon his return. Getting this out the way is good for him and good for us.

Thirdly. A 1500+ oz box of silver would be very valuable and it makes sense to have a smaller package for insurance purposes.

So...

That means that there will be a "mini" group order unboxing (including some silver shot too!) coming in the next week or so.

I will be getting in touch with people who ordered in week 1 and we can see what you would like to do regarding onwards postage. I am happy to hold onto and combine with other orders if you want, but if week 1 was all you wanted then it can be sent out next week.

This will not affect the share of international shipping cost for everyone as this is set at 1% of the value of your order.

I hope that all makes sense and if anyone has any questions or concerns just let me know!

BYB

Confused about this BYB, I thought the international shipping part was calculated on your % on the overall weight/value (?)

On previous orders there was a fixed € cost that people would pay a % share of based on the overall value of their order and the whole order.

This time (under the shipping section on page 1) I mentioned that this particular order the cost of shipping is fixed at 1% of the total order of the group order. So basically everybody is paying 1% on top of their coins.

So regardless of the total order shipping is the same for everyone, 1%

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you for explaining and sorry I missed that (particularly because I often pull the legs of folk who don't read the first post properly - 'karma' is a learning curve eh !??) I skimmed through but it looked largely the same to me, so i missed that.

It does make sense thank you, but it might make it uneconomic for me, we shall see! :)
