Recommended Posts

hi guys, i just placed my first order with goldsilver.be, as i understand the next group order is going to be from European mint and wanted to get some coins from here that are cheaper. i opted to pay via PayPal, then i received an email stating i will receive another email for payment. will this be a link to the website? i dont want to make an external payment but cant see an option to pay from my order details on the website. if anyone has delt with this before would be a great help.

thanks

ah yes i got it today. i was concerned i would have to make the purchase via the email link not through paypal. so all is well, except paypal exchange rates hit me hard lol

thanks for replying though :)

in the future do a banks transfer using https://transferwise.com

Easy service to use and you will not spend as much in exchange rate.

I bought from them using transferwise. In fact I’ve used transferwise to buy from many places including the states. Use your debit card (I think if using a credit card it’s like a cash withdrawal so you get charged interest immediately from your card provider, I think)

A bit scary first go, I’m a little sceptical of these things so first go was a bit of a leap of faith, but it’s just like a bank transfer.

You know European Mint accept Bitcoin which would avoid this problem. Some places like Silver Gold Bull offer discounts because they save on fees from payment processors. Something to consider next time.

thanks for all your replies, think from now on i will go through the group orders on this site though. only ordered this time as there was a few coins i really wanted. now its mainly just about increasing my stack.

on another note the government have laid down their proposal trade deal when leaving the EU from what i understand what they want (if they get it is another thing entirely) is for uk citizens to pay european tax on eu products then get whacked on 20% here too. so buying silver in the future could be an issue. just my luck i only started stacking lol.

If you are going to use PayPal using existing funds in say GBP I’ve found you actually save something like 1% by doing an internal transfer of funds from GBP into Euros first then spending the Euros.

Don’t ask me why, but they apply a different currency exchange rate on the internal transfer vs a purchase.
