WHEN SILVER/GOLD BECOMES ART

Thought I would start a topic of items made from precious metals that are works of art, I am not going to concentrate on the price nor what they are worth but the work that has gone into them either in skill or their uniqueness, I will continue adding to this post as I discover things that leave me in awe while surfing the net and invite the members of this forum to, too, dont worry what others might think, put stuff on here that matters to you, it does not even have to be something you would want to own, but just like it,

I have many links to stuff I really like but will not flood this topic straight away.

I will start things off with this, I think they are gorgeous, I wouldnt like to carry one in my pocket though as they are legal tender, I think one of those antlers might mash one of my lovespuds 

 

There is others in this set, a wolf and a ram, I think the one above looks the best though, maybe as it does not look to reflective.

They look amazing but are quite expensive ornaments.

But what is art?

Its in the eye of the beholder, whatever you personally think is nice looking, unique, skillful, created by humans or nature, and is more expensive than the sum of its parts.

I quite like this, uniquely different, but unlike some things I seen similiar that only have 1oz of silver in them, this has a whole 1kg, and this is legal tender lol.

The gold and silver colored ones are. But not the copper colored ones!

I am the worst and I know it, I aint going to complain about anyone else doing it, plus I like a good laugh, its good for your health.

Yeah I love art deco and art nouveav style items, from the statues, jewellery, furniture, pottery etc etc.

Man, I like that a lot.  But runs 3000 Euros or $3400.

I've been looking for a classy card case for my business cards (instead of keeping them in my wallet), and found this silver one. It's price is like $1,300 so that's a hard pass. But still, it's vintage Art Deco, and it's silver, and has a peculiar charm to it.

I'm guessing that was originally a cigarette holder, but is ideally suited to business cards

It seems like most of them were meant for cigarettes.

On a side note, I've come across many of them that are 3+ ounces of silver, some more than 5 ounces. So the expense could be further justified as it's adding to the stack.

Most expensive game of soldiers you could have there, nice, I like how they cover a different warrior of different era's.

Yeah I definitely don't play war with them ?, but for sure the variety of all the different warriors was a huge plus for me!
